Today’s IT landscapes are dominated by vertical structures that hinder interoperability between devices. Moreover cloud computing and the data communication to the cloud and back has the downside of a high latency and bandwith restrictions.

Our platform RIoT solves the existing problems by offering a horizontal and open approach to integrate various sources of data and process them in real-time (edge-/fog-computing). It provides real-time intelligence by combining high capacity stream processing with advanced data analytics. Its elastic architecture makes it highly scalable.

RIoT Architecture

Real-time/Edge platform
High-capacity stream-processing approach guarantees real-time capability – even for large data volumes. Up to 1 mn. objects can be connected with a guaranteed latency of less than 50ms

Highly elastic and open architecture
On the input side the connection layer integrates KINEXON data and handles interfaces and protocols of a large array of 3rd party data sources (e.g. RFID, Barcode, MES). On the application side APIs and and SDK allow 3rd parties to connect their applications with RIoT. Moreover, RIoT offers an optional cloud connectivity.

Intelligence that matters
The combination of industry application expertise and powerful algorithms transforms big data into actionable insights that are visualized in the form of dash-boards, statistics, event notifications and live views. The integration of location, status and ID information allows to add geospatial context to the things. This enables valuable analytics (e.g. process maps). Features include for example automated event trigger, detection of process anomalies, association of information from various technologies (e.g. GPS and RFID), longitudinal/cross-sectional statistics, and predictions.

Coupling Events
By coupling tags and objects, those can be uniquely identified or assigned to orders at any time. Links can be made fully automatically in geofences by linking meta and position data.

Geofence Events
When defined areas (e.g. storage areas, production steps) are entered or left by objects, events connected to KINEXON RIoT can be triggered automatically in real-time.

Collision Events
Operating ranges can be assigned to each object. If the operating ranges of several objects meet within defined geofences (e.g. exit of high-bay warehouses), events can also be triggered.
